Brothers, Jim and Sam Kamas opened Cactus Jack's for business in November 1976. It is still owned and operated by Jim and Sam. The Kamas brothers first owned Kamas Vending Company, which placed games, pool tables, foosball tables, jukeboxes, etc into other people’s business. They had games in skating rinks, bowling alleys, pizza stores, clubs, grocery stores, etc...

Jim and Sam decided they needed a place to store the extra games, while waiting to place them in a business that called or needed to exchange a broken game. They decided to open a game room where kids could come and play games, and have fun. So they started looking for a location to put the games in.

No one wanted to rent space to a game room, because they didn’t want all the kids to be around their businesses. They finally found an old club way west of town at 1211 N Council Road in August 1976 that would rent them a building (the Old Jail West Club, and Sooner Broadcast Club).

In September of 1976, Jim, Sam,  two friends (Keith, and Larry) and one carpenter (Greg) started building Cactus Jack's. They started tearing out the old club, and then would hall the trash to the dump. Every time they would get to the dump, an old grumpy man would yell at them to dump the truck over here or over there. He was mean and grumpy every time. Nobody wanted to take the truck to the dump, because they would get yelled at. Another friend (Randy) called the old grumpy man "Cactus Jack."

After three months of terror from many trips to the dump to face old Cactus Jack, Jim and Sam decided to name the game room Cactus Jack's. Today it is still called Cactus Jack's.

Cactus Jack's opened in November 1976. Kids from every high school in Oklahoma City and surrounding areas would meet at Cactus Jack's on Friday and Saturday nights. Today, those same people now bring their whole family for a fun time.
